What is Hydrodemolition?
Hydrodemolition is a process that uses ultra-high pressure water, directed through a robot’s nozzle to remove deteriorated, weakened concrete. Hydrodemolition is primarily used on bridge decks, dams, parking garages and other places where steel reinforcement is present.
Why use Hydrodemolition?
Hydrodemolition prevents micro-fracturing by reducing vibrations that come with impact methods, such as using a roto-mill or jackhammer. When complete, hydrodemolition leaves a rough, irregular and clean surface that provides an excellent mechanical bond for repair materials. Hydrodemolition cleans the reinforcement (eliminating another step of surface prep), reduces dust and provides a safer work environment by using one of our hydrodemolition robots.
